Includes group discussion, trainer demonstration, and practical group work, use of the training literature, record keeping and a short theory paper.
4 hrs work/home study which involves conducting and assessing seated exercise sessions for groups OR individuals. Learners need to produce evidence and assessments of the sessions then submit this to Vitalyz within 4 weeks of the course date.
NB: Learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their own work and on successful completion of the case study Vitalyz will apply for the NOCN certificate, which will be posted to the learner.
How are learners taught?
Learners are motivated to deliver a physical activity programme which is tailor made for their service users and can be delivered when they are most likely to participate. Training is held onsite, except Open Courses. Each section has a broad range of experience including discussion, motivation, role-play and simulation. There is an emphasis on health and safety, equal opportunities, caring skills and communication.
What is the qualification?
This course is accredited by the Open College Network. NOCN provide opportunities for learners to progress to qualifications within the National Qualification Framework. Quality assurance, supported at the point of delivery, underpins all NOCN qualifications.
How is Vitalyz training cost-effective for residential care?
Carers are probably the best people to deliver seated exercise as they know their service users and understand their medical status. So why pay for an outside provider when the care team can be trained by Vitalyz?
Vitalyz training is an investment in carers continued learning development as they become motivated to ensure ALL service users are offered this unique activity in a way that is suited to their needs and abilities.
Other information
This course is NOT 'train the trainer', it is aimed at those who will be providing this activity because activities provision is part of their job description and therefore covered by their employers insurance OR people who already have appropriate insurance in place.
It is important to note that this course will not currently gain individuals access to personal insurance for delivering sessions in the community.
There is soon to be progression training available and Vitalyz will keep all learners up to date with details of new courses and opportunities as they arise.
In order to help more people access seated exercise training, Vitalyz host a number of open courses, details of which are posted as they are confirmed.
