AWC (cic) are liasing with Towards Balance to organise and deliver a range of events, initially within Hampshire. The 1/2 day and full day events will be aimed at carers and volunteers who want to do a little more to help thosein theri care and also to help keep themselves at their best!

Active With Care - Aims & Objectives
- To develop and facilitate activities which benefit the community and in particular (without limitation) to encourage and enable less able persons, their carers and or their families to participate in some level of physical activity, no matter what their limitations may be.
- Deliver sensible and appropriate advice on issues surrounding support groups for less able communities.
- Aim to associate with Charities/Associations who already help these communities.
Active With Care - Quality Assurance for Fit as a Fiddle
Fit as a Fiddle is organised by Age Concern England and funded by the National Lottery. It's been estimated that it will benefit nearly 90,000 older people across the country by stimulating their interest in physical activity, healthy eating and ensuring access for them to appropriately tailored activities to enhance their well-being.
Within Fit as a Fiddle are a variety of schemes and NAPA are piloting one especially for residential care homes. This involves training staff and volunteers to facilitate and encourage 'Tea Parties' within the Home environment to stimulate residents mentally and physically. Once the training has been delivered and the Tea Parties are happening, Active With Care will be visiting the sites to evaluate the success of the training programme and provide extra support if required.
For your interest - A community interest company (CIC) is a limited liability company with the specific aim of providing benefit to a community. It has continuity of purpose and once incorporated, it will continue in existence until it is either dissolved or converted to a charity.
